On February 3 and 4, the Paideia swim teams participated in the state meet at Georgia Tech. It was a great two days for the Pythons.

Here are the highlights:

  • Liam McCarthy became a state champion in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:01.86! He also finished fourth in the 100 freestyle.
  • Wade Tolbert finished second in the 200 IM with a new school record of 1:59.32. He also finished sixth in the 100 breaststroke.
  • Daniela Elias da-Silva came in fifth in the 50 freestyle with a time of 25.51 and 11th in the 100 freestyle.
  • Nat Hamrick finished 12th in the 50 freestyle.
  • The 200 freestyle relay of Nat Hamrick, Wade Tolbert, Liam Campbell, Liam McCarthy finished second. Their time of 1:32.10 was 0.07 off the school record.
  • The 400 freestyle relay of Nat Hamrick, Wade Tolbert, Ben McCarthy, Liam McCarthy finished sixth.

Also swimming were Saleem Cassoobhoy and Sanders Green as part of the 200 medley relay. Overall, the boys finished fifth in the state and the girls 20th. Way to go Pythons!!
