Leading this trip are Miranda Knowles and Brian Smith in coordination with Global Public Service Academies (GPSA). GPSA was formed in 2010 and has worked with the Global Health Institute at Duke and the Biomedical Engineering program at Johns Hopkins. It has programs in Belize, Guatemala, West Virginia, and Thailand. Paideia previously participated in programs in Guatemala and Belize.
Students will fly in and out of Bangkok and the group will then fly to Mae Sot where they will participate in public healthcare outreach.
Students will be in dormitory-style accommodations as a group and will not be in homestays.

Cost:
The estimated cost is $5,250. This includes airfare to and from Bangkok and all expenses while in Thailand. Students with tuition percentages will receive the same percentage for this trip.
Immunizations & CDC Recommendations
Participants must show proof of immunization for Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Chickenpox, Tetanus (within 10 years), Typhoid, measles and COVID-19. Your doctor will likely recommend additional vaccinations and treatments. The CDC and other agencies recommend Malaria chemoprophylaxis for the Mae Sot region. Please consult with your doctor concerning the appropriate prophylaxis for your child. The fee does not include health insurance. Participants must show evidence of health insurance including international coverage. Inexpensive travel health insurance can be purchased online.
