Learning Support and Counseling

Counseling Support

At Paideia, we believe every child’s emotional well-being is as important as their academic growth. Our dedicated counselors work to nurture a community where students feel supported, valued and ready to thrive.

At every level, mental health counselors provide individualized support, helping students build confidence, resilience and healthy coping strategies. The team includes five full-time counselors across all levels who focus on student well-being. Counselors work with individual students and families, as well as provide mental health support and programming for their school level. They collaborate closely with the learning support team and serve as a resource for families, offering guidance and referrals for extended support.

Learning Support

Partnering with teachers, students and families

Our learning specialists partner with teachers, students and families to ensure each child has the tools, strategies and encouragement they need. In the Elementary, our full-time learning specialist works hand-in-hand with teachers and families to support each child’s unique learning profile. At this level, students also benefit from a dedicated math coordinator and reading interventionist. In Junior High, the learning specialist is a source of guidance and support with more focus on executive functioning and academic skill development. Support at this level can be provided in a group setting or one-on-one.

In the High School, our learning center is open for all students to strengthen their organizational and time management skills. The two full-time high school learning specialists and testing coordinators work with teachers to create classroom strategies and accommodations. Students with diagnosed learning differences have a formalized accommodation plan and coordinate with internal and external resources to make sure the right supports are in place.
