Paideia is a K-12 college preparatory school in the Druid Hills area of Atlanta. The high school enrolls 460 students. The high school curriculum consists of extensive offerings in English, social sciences, mathematics, modern languages, natural and physical sciences, art and music. Class size averages fifteen students.
This full-time position includes teaching 4 courses , academic advising for 8-10 high school students, weekly faculty meetings, and participating as a full member of the school community. Faculty members create and teach 4 hours worth of courses for each of the two 4 week short-terms. Some faculty members choose to act as a student activity sponsor or coach one of the many school sports teams.
We are looking for a dynamic educator to join our student centered learning community. The position requires flexibility and confidence to teach multiple levels of mathematics from 9th grade Geometry to our upper level courses that include AP BC Calculus, Computer Science and Vector Calculus.
Ideally, applicants would have a degree in Mathematics or appreciable course work in the content area. While Masters level is preferred, it is not required. At least 3-5 years of teaching experience is also preferred.
