Paideia is a K-12 college preparatory school in the Druid Hills area of Atlanta. The high school enrolls 460 students. The high school curriculum consists of extensive offerings in English, social sciences, mathematics, modern languages, natural and physical sciences, art and music. Class size averages fifteen students.
This full-time position includes teaching 4 courses, academic advising for 8 -10 high school students, weekly faculty/department meetings, and participating as a full member of the school community. Faculty members create and teach 4 hours of courses for each of the two 4 week short-terms. Some faculty members choose to act as a student activity sponsor or coach one of the many school sports teams.
We are looking for a dynamic educator to join our student-centered learning community. Issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion are explored in every aspect of this school community and faculty members must be willing to lead in this area.
The position requires flexibility and confidence to teach multiple levels of History. Applicants must have a degree in History, a concentration in non-western disciplines is appreciated. While Masters level is preferred, it is not required. At least 3-5 years of teaching experience is also preferred.
