Junior High Aftercare
Junior high afterschool is a supervised program for junior high students that runs from 3:10 until 6 p.m. each day. During this time the kids may play basketball on the junior high basketball court, go to the library or computer lab (certain days and times only), use their time to study in a quiet room, or play games and “hang out” in the junior high commons. They are not allowed to go to the high school: nor should they be in the elementary playground area.
The cost is $7 per day if you register and make a deposit ($200) in advance: for students who “drop-in” the fee is $8 per day. The “drop-in” fee must be paid on the day your student attends aftercare, or you will be billed via email. If you register and make the $200 deposit the daily fee will automatically be deducted from your account. The fee covers the cost of staff supervision and a light snack.
Each child must sign in by 3:25 pm each day they attend aftercare and must be picked up by 6 p.m. You will be charged $1 for each minute that you are late: this late fee will be paid directly to the teacher staying with your child when you pick him or her up. Any child left on campus after 3:25 p.m. must sign in at aftercare — THIS IS NON NEGOTIABLE! Any child actively engaged in an adult supervised activity (sports practice, tutoring, music lesson) does not have to sign in for the time during the practice or lesson. However, if the child is on campus for more than 10 minutes after the close of the lesson he or she must sign in to aftercare.
It is for reasons of safety that we require all children on campus after 3:25 p.m. to be part of a supervised program. Please don¡¦t ask your child to wait on the periphery of the campus after that time. If any child is found waiting for a parent after the end of carpool, he or she will be told to sign in at aftercare.
