  • Junior High Band Wins Honors

    The Paideia junior high band, which includes several sixth graders, earned the highest rating of "Superior" at the annual "Trills and Thrills" performance evaluation Saturday, April 30.

  • Paideia Students Honored at GMTA Competition

    Two Paideia students received recognition at the Georgia Music Teachers Association competition April 9. Evan Nicholson, a seventh grader, received “Outstanding Performer” in the strings sixth-seventh grade division and will be the conference recitalist from that division. He also was a recipient of the “Award of Excellence” in the instrumental concerto.

    Sarah Chen, a sophomore, received “Honorable Mention” in the strings 10th-11th grade division.

  • Five Paideia Students Receive National Arts Award

    Five Paideia high school students have received national recognition by the 2016 National Scholastic Art & Writing Awards program for their photography. Zoe Searles, Libby Kirk and Evy DiSalvo were awarded gold medals. Max Schwalbach and Isabelle Poore received silver medals. The three gold medal winners will be honored at a ceremony in New York City at Carnegie Hall on June 2, 2016. The work of the Paideia students will be part of a display June 2-12 at Pratt Institute's Pratt Manhattan Gallery in New York City. The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards are the nation's longest running and most prestigious recognition program for creative work by students in grades 7-12.

  • Paideia Students Named to All-State Chorus

    Nine high school and four junior high students have been selected to perform with the All-State Chorus in Athens in late February.

  • Paideia Students Recognized by Regional Scholastic Art Program

    Thirty-seven high school students from Paideia School have been honored with 2016 Scholastic Art and Writing Regional Awards.

    Sixteen students were awarded Gold Keys (some students received more than one), 14 students were awarded Silver Keys (some students received more than one), and 16 students got Honorable Mentions (some students received more than one).

    All Gold Keys winners will progress to a national competition next month.

  • All-Select Middle School Orchestra

    Twelve Paideia junior high students have been selected to perform in the 2016 Georgia Independent School Association All-Select Middle School Orchestra.

  • Paideia Students Named to Youth Orchestras

    Four Paideia students have been accepted into the 2016 Georgia Music Educators All-State Orchestra. One student has been selected for the All-State Symphonic Band.

  • Paideia Students Named to District Honor Band

    Three Paideia high school students passed the first audition for the All-State Concert and Symphonic Bands. Their high scores qualify them to be members of the District Honor band and the final audition for the All-State bands in January.

  • Paideia Student Finalist in Vocalist Competition

    Sara Cox '18 was a finalist in the Schmidt Vocal Competition on Nov. 21. Sara sang “Apres Un Reve” by Faure, “Vergebliches Standchen” by Brahms and “Ridente la Calma” by Mozart. The competition is held in 12 locations nationwide and awards over $100,000 in prizes and scholarships annually and is sponsored by the William E. Schmidt Foundation.

  • Paideia Students Named to Area Youth Orchestras

    Paideia students have been named to area youth orchestras and one student has been named to the 2015 National Honor Orchestra. Three students were named to the Emory Youth Symphony Orchestra. Two students have been named to the Atlanta Youth Symphony Orchestra. Nine students were named to the Emory Junior Chamber Orchestra. The Rialto Youth Jazz Orchestra has selected two Paideia students.
