Alumni Night at Python Basketball
Posted February 1
On January 6th, the Booster Club and Alumni Office sponsored Alumni Night at Python Basketball, admitting any Paideia alum free of charge. More than 40 Paideia alums returned to campus to cheer on the Python basketball teams. The JV boys, varsity girls and boys competed against Our Lady of Mercy. It was an exciting night of Python victories, with the girls' varsity winning 40-34 and the boys' varsity coming away with 71-52 victory. At halftime of the girls' game, Athletic Director Marty Hays' announced as more than 10 alumnae participated in a free throw shooting contest. Sophie Darch '10 sank enough shots to win, taking home a Paideia Athletics' t-shirt, a Paideia travel cup, and a Starbucks' gift card. This contest was repeated during the boys' game halftime, and Ahmad Tunstall ‘11 took home the loot. The Booster Club plans to repeat this event annually at the first home game after the winter break. If you missed it and can't wait until next year, there are a few more Python home games left - check the website for details! ~ Susan Johnson, Paideia parent and Booster Chair
